Bookable Appointments vs. Availabilities
The Difference
| Aspect | Availability | Appointment |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Defines bookable time slots | Concrete booking with a participant |
| Status | Open for bookings | Occupied by a participant |
| Flexibility | Can allow multiple bookings (capacity) | Always assigned to one participant |
| Visibility | Visible in the Booking Widget | No longer bookable after booking |
How do they relate?
- You create Availabilities (bookable time slots)
- Customers book from these availabilities
- A booking becomes an Appointment with the customer as participant
- The availability is reduced or removed according to capacity
Important to know
- Appointments can also be created without a prior availability (manual appointments)
- Availabilities without bookings do not disappear automatically
- Upon cancellation, the slot becomes available again (provided the availability still exists)
